Dawson Butte is a beautiful hidden gem located just south of Castle Rock in Larkspur, Colorado. This location offers a variety of backdrop options depending on the season of the year. It is beautiful year-round! Mountain views, lush fields, evergreen trees, and quiet walking paths are its best features. Don’t be surprised if a deer crosses our path during our time. This is one of my very favorite locations for variety in a gorgeous Colorado setting! I love that we can get a mountain view without traveling too far from home. I know those car rides for littles can be a chore! Close to home and a world away, all in one beautiful setting! (PS – this is a fantastic hike as well if you are looking for a hike to enjoy!)
Directions:
- From I-25, take exit 181 for Plum Creek Pkwy/Frontage Rd toward Wilcox St
- Continue onto Frontage Rd
- Turn right onto Tomah Rd
- Follow Tomah Road for about 1.5 miles until you see the Dawson’s Butte Open Space parking lot on the right hand side
