My youngest son finished up his junior year of high school last week. When he got home that day I offhandedly said “Oh my gosh, you’re a SENIOR!!” I then paused, walked into my office, and proceeded to cry. It’s not because I’m sad; I am actually beyond happy for him. It’s just that I know how quickly this next year is going to fly by. It’s an exciting and emotional time for both of us. We are now starting to talk about his senior portraits, which has us both excited for one of the biggest milestones of this season of life. I wasn’t sure he’d have much thought about it – photographer’s child syndrome – but turns out he has some specific thoughts about location and styling. I’m 100% here for that kind of input from him. It’s helping me not be as emotional about this upcoming year, and feeling pretty special to be able to document this big milestone for him.
