As most of you know the recent events in Connecticut have brought much heartbreak and sadness to our country, if not our entire world. I always have this saying when I have new babies in my studio – “welcome to the world, what a brighter place it is with you in it!” And as such, the world is a bit darker and dimmer with the loss of those beautiful souls on December 14, 2012. I know many of you are grieving as am I. I seek out my own children’s faces and try to memorize each little nuance that I see. And like so many of you I wonder what I can do, how I can help to heal the pain.
I just found out about a charity that many fellow photographers are contributing to:
https://www.facebook.com/TheOliviaAct
This charity challenges every professional photographer to donate a complimentary session to a family who might not otherwise be able to afford a professional portrait session. As we see those beautiful faces across our news feed and via facebook, we see them smiling, their happiness shining through in their family portraits. Their families will, I imagine, forever hold onto those portraits as a cherished treasure. I want to provide this to a deserving family so that they too can have portraits that they will cherish. If you know of a family who is deserving of a free portrait session with crib tales, please send me an email (cribtales@gmail.com) with their names, contact information, and a little background as to why you think they are the most deserving of a free session. I will leave this open until January 2 at noon, and will then select a random winner for a free portrait session to take place in early 2013 (date will depend on schedule and weather). Session will include everything complimentary -sitting fee and a custom USB Flash Drive with all of their final images and a personal rights release form for unlimited printing.

And I continue to send my love and thoughts to the town of Newtown, CT.
