From the Beginning | Castle Rock Family Photographer

The D family have been with me on this photography journey from the beginning.  They are friends, and hold a part of my heart, and always will.  My work first debuted at an auction I was working on for their beautiful daughter, Kyra, three years ago.  Kyra was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor 3.5 year ago when she was just 5 years old.  It rocked their world to the core, to say the least.  I have watched Kyra’s fight, and her family’s fight, for the last 3.5 years.  She was in remission for 2 of those years and I was stunned when the news came that her cancer was back.  She’s a fighter and she’s going to win this battle, I have absolutely no doubt in my mind or my heart.  She has a long road ahead of her but you’ve never met a child quite like her.  I feel honored to call her my friend.  If you are willing I’d love for you to visit her website and share some love with her and her parents and little brother Matthew.  They are an amazing family.

This photography session was done just before Christmas.  I hadn’t shared it yet because, well, I don’t have a good excuse, just life and time got in the way.  But if Kyra’s story has shown me anything it is to embrace every single beautiful moment.  Thank you Kyra.
