I met Brookly over two years ago when she did some gorgeous design work for me. Immediately upon our first meeting I was struck by not only her beauty outside, but the beauty and strength within. She is passionate about her family, her three boys and her sweet husband John. I also had the honor of capturing a St. Baldrick’s event for their family last year. That was a session I will never forget – Brookly’s son Layton and her husband John both shaved their heads in honor of Layton’s brother Brandon who passed away five years ago from cancer. It was such a touching experience for me to capture, and I’m grateful they asked me to participate.
Last fall the R family found out very last minute that their life story was taking them on a new adventure and they would be leaving Colorado. I know that was a very hard time for them – excited about the future, sad to leave the place they called home for such a long time. They were back in Colorado for their final move, just one weekend, and we slipped away for a last minute portrait session. We purposefully selected this location, with the Castle Rock in the background, to help them commemorate their big move. They also brought along a favorite stuff animal of Brandon’s to be a part of their session. So he would be a part of their session.
Thank you R family for allowing me to be a part of capturing your lives over the past year, and for sharing Brandon’s story with me. I wish you all the best in your new adventures ahead…
