Columbine Open Space – Castle Rock

The Columbine Open Space in Castle Rock, Colorado, is a beautiful location for family portraits! It especially shines in the spring and fall when light is a little softer, though I use it year round for family sessions.  This location offers a picturesque, rustic red barn set back into the middle of a beautiful open field of tall grasses and spring-time wildflowers.  The location also offers a stone outbuilding and wall, as well as sloping mountain views, rolling hills of fences, rustic paths, and more.  It is a great spot for littles in your family to run around and play and to take in a beautiful sunset.  The images captured at this location are natural, peaceful, and rural, with a bit of a vintage vibe (which I love!).

Directions:

Drive North on the Frontage Road about 1/4 of a mile and you will see a small green hiking sign indicating your arrival. The red barn is located slightly up the hill.  There is public parking by the barn – follow the signs.  Please note dogs are not allowed on the property.

Columbine Open Space

Columbine Open Space is the combination of two separate properties (the 590-acre Maytag property, and the 171-acre Ramsour/Kuester property). Protection of the property is the result of the efforts of two private conservation buyers, Great Outdoors Colorado, the Colorado Division of Wildlife, Douglas County Land Conservancy, Douglas County and The Conservation Fund. Sorry, no dogs are allowed.
