The Columbine Open Space in Castle Rock, Colorado, is one of my favorite places to photograph families, seniors, and maternity sessions. With wide open fields, rustic charm, and breathtaking views, this quiet gem offers a peaceful and natural setting that’s perfect for capturing relaxed, heartfelt portraits.
The centerpiece of this location is the vintage red barn, tucked into a quiet field, with a beautiful Colorado backdrop behind it. You’ll also find a charming stone outbuilding and ancient properyt line wall, rolling hills and fences, sloping mountain views, and winding dirt paths that are made for wandering and storytelling through your photos.
Please note: Columbine Open Space is the combination of two separate properties (the 590-acre Maytag property and the 171-acre Ramsour/Kuester property). Protection of the property is the result of the efforts of two private conservation buyers, Great Outdoors Colorado, the Colorado Division of Wildlife, Douglas County Land Conservancy, Douglas County and The Conservation Fund. Sorry, no dogs are allowed.
